Reacting to Donald Trumps’ victory in the US president elections, a spokesperson for Hamas said that incoming administration must work seriously to stop the war in the Gaza Strip.
According to the US media, the Hamas spokesman said that our position on the new US administration will depend on what position they take regarding the Palestinian people, their legitimate rights and their just cause.
In the statement issued by the group, it is further stated that without repeating the mistake of Joe Biden, the new US president should listen to the voices of the American community while rejecting the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
It added that the new administration must also realise that the Palestinians continue to resist Israeli occupation and aggression.
The Hamas spokesman also said that the new US president must also realise that the Palestinians will not accept any solution that destroys or diminishes their rights.
Basim Naim of the Hamas Political Bureau called for an end to the blind support of the Zionist state, saying that this US support for Israel endangers the future of the Palestinians and the peace of the region.
