The 2024 US Election Day began with a unique midnight vote ending in a tie between Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and former Republican President Donald Trump in Dixville Notch.
Each candidate received three votes, reflecting the extremely close nationwide Presidential polls.
The township opened and closed its poll right after midnight ET, tracing back to the local 1960’s tradition.
The participants included four Republicans and two more voters.
Regardless of the Dixville Notch’s small contribution to the making of ultimate winner, the local population of the township has been appreciative of the township kick starting the election day.
In January’s New Hampshire primary, the voters of Dixville Notch had also given a surprise unanimous victory to Republican candidate Nikki Haley.
