Pakistan prolific batter Babar Azam has joined an elite list of cricketers who have donated their cricket bats to the prestigious Long Room of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The MCG authorities recently invited former Pakistan captain Babar to donate a bat to the historic Long Room collection.

Babar donated his used 2022 T20 World Cup final bat to the collection.

“It’s an incredible honor to have amy bat displayed in the MCG Long Room alongside some of the greatest batsmen in history,” said Babar.

The Long Room’s collection features bats of legendary cricket such as Don Bradman, David Boon, Jack Hobbs, and Brian Lara.

“I have many fond memories of the MCG; it is one of the finest stadiums in the world,” he said.

Babar’s bat will now be showcased for visitors, adding to the legacy of this historic venue, where he competed in the 2022 T20 World Cup final.
