KARACHI: The Islami Jamiat Talaba has welcomed the Sindh High Court’s directive to establish a code of conduct for student union elections.
IJT Spokesperson Ibrahim Adil appreciated the court’s orders.
The Sindh High Court, headed by Justice Adnan Iqbal Chaudhry, heard the constitutional petition filed by the Islami Jamiat Talaba regarding student union elections. The court directed the educational institutions to submit a report on the code of conduct for student union elections within five weeks. Additionally, the court sought details from the Ministry of Universities and Boards regarding the restoration of student unions.
Ibrahim Adil stated that the University of Karachi administration should seek recommendations from students regarding the code of conduct for student unions. He emphasized that student unions should be restored to their original structure and constitutional framework, as they played a vital role in providing leadership and guidance to the country.
