Three personnel of the Pakistan Army, including a major, were martyred and eight terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Bannu District, ISPR said Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the intelligence-based operation conducted in general area Bakka Khel, Bannu district on the reported presence of khwarij [terrorist].
During intense exchange of fire, Major Atif Khalil, 31, who was leading his troops from front, embraced martyrdom along with his two men.
Other two other soldiers were Naik Azad Ullah, aged 36 from District Karak, and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas, aged 35 from District Layyah.
Meanwhile, the troops effectively engaged the militants location and as a result of which “eight khwarij were sent to hell, while seven khwarij got injured, ISPR said.
The ISPR noted that a sanitisation operation is currently underway in the area to eliminate any remaining Khawarij.
“Such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” said the ISPR.
