Gary Kirsten resigns as white-ball coach of Pakistan team

Gary Kirsten has resigned as the head coach of Pakistan white-ball team, ESPNCricinfo reported Monday.

The former South African batter was appointed for the role back in April this year on a two-year contract.

He barely lasted six months in the role.

Red-ball team head coach Jason Gillespie or Chief selector Aaqib Javed is favourite to success Kirsten for the upcoming Australia and Zimbabwe tours.

Kirsten had reportedly some disagreements with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

According to the sources, the reason for the differences between Gerry Kirsten and PCB was former’s non-implementation of the contract. Kirsten was insisting on including players of his choice in central contract and white ball team.

He also demanded to include foreigners of his choice in the support staff.
