Captain Muhammad Rizwan out for today's T20 against Australia

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed wicketkeeper batter Muhammad Rizwan as new captain of the national team’s one-day international and T20 format.

Addressing a presser in Lahore today, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi also announced Salman Ali Agha as vice captain in both the formats of the national team.

“The board has decided to appoint Muhammad Rizwan and Salman Ali Agha as captains of ODI and T20 teams, respectively,” Mohsin Naqvi told newsmen.

Praising the selection committee, he said it had worked so hard on the central contract. Even, during the last two Test matches, the committee worked non-stop. The committee has a big role in the series win against England, he added.

Speaking about Babar Azam, the PCB chief said that we wanted him to regain his form as he is a national asset. The star batter contacted me and said he does not want to play as a captain anymore. His decision was to focus on game.

To a question about Fakhar Zaman, he said that the opener has few issues, including his tweet and show-cause notice but the important one is his fitness.
