Champions Trophy: Indian team to play matches in Pakistan, but won’t have night stay in country

There are bright chances that Indian cricket team will visit Pakistan to participate in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy slated to be held next February.

However, according to highly responsible sources in the PCB, the Indian players would not have a night stay in Pakistan. In case of visiting Pakistan, the Indian players will leave for home shortly after playing their match here.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is ready to show so much flexibility to host Indian matches in the country that it has agreed that the Men in Blue leave for their homeland after playing their match here, avoiding night stay on Pakistani soil. In this case, the Indian team may have a night stay in Indian cities of New Delhi, Mohali and Amritsar. Pakistan is ready to arrange chartered flights and issuance of multiple visas to the Men in Blue.

In this connection, the sources said that the PCB and Indian cricket board have made contacts over telephone and email.

During the recent Asian Cricket Council meeting in Kuala Lumpur, the officials of both the boards had a discussion on it.

The sources further said that when the Indian board approached the PCB in this  regard the latter assured complete cooperation and support to the former.

Now, the Indian cricket board will take up the issue up with its government.
