ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police along with Pakistan Rangers and other security agencies on Saturday conducted search operation in various areas of Tarnol police station and arrested 19 suspects including six Afghan nationals besides recovering cache of weapons from them, police source said.

According to details, officers/officials of Islamabad Police, Pak Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operation in various areas of Tarnol police station including `Sarai Kharboza’ and its adjacent areas.

During this search operation, also participated by ASP (Saddar Circle) Umer Khan, 19 suspects were arrested and more than 130 houses were screened. Police arrested six Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country while arms and ammunition were recovered from the nabbed persons. All of suspects have been shifted to police station for further investigation.

SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani has said that the purpose of this search operation is to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort will be made to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens.

He has also appealed the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity around them.
