Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that we are currently in a good position on the economic front and doing more to improve the economic reforms.
Addressing the Pakistan Saudi Arabia Business Forum in Islamabad today, the finance minister said that they are working for the improvement of economic reforms and can stabilize the country’s economy with the partnership of the private sector. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, stability is coming in the country’s economy, he added.
He further said that the current account deficit is coming down substantially while the foreign exchange reserves have increased, value of the rupee has improved and the inflation rate has also come down to single digit which is currently 6.9. The federal minister said that it is expected that there will be further reduction in the interest rate which will restore the economic activities.
He further said that the Pakistan Stock Exchange is making all-time high record in history as the current account deficit has reduced and the currency has stabilized. Payments to foreign investors have been made on time while Pakistan’s credit rating has improved, he continued.
Aurangzeb said that in the last 14 months we were working on macroeconomics and today our macroeconomic indicators have improved as we have achieved significant success in this.
The finance minister further said that the government’s job is not to do business but to provide facilities for business.
