Current system in Arabian Sea may turn into coastal cyclone, warns NDMA

The existing system in the Arabian Sea is likely to turn into a coastal cyclone, according to the National Emergency Operations Center’s preliminary alert.

According to an NDMA spokesperson, the possible cyclonic system is currently located near Lakshadweep Valley, India and is likely to move northwestward.

The preliminary forecast that depending on its speed and intensity, this system may hit the Pakistani coastline in the third week of October 2024. The possible cyclone will affect the coastal areas of Pakistan, affecting the residents of the coastal areas and related institutions.
