Election Commission challenges SC’s Sept 14 clarification on reserved seat

The Election Commission of Pakistan has challenged the September 14 clarification of the majority of Supreme Court judges on the reserved seats.

The review petition has taken the position that the Election Commission is not responsible for the delay in the court’s decision. The clarification of the decision of July 12 was filed on July 25 and the Supreme Court issued the clarification order on September 14.

According to the petitioner, the court neither issues a notice to the Election Commission on the document of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf nor it sought a response from the ECP on the said documents.

The Election Commission of Pakistan prayed the Supreme Court to review the September 14 explanation.
