A major PTI public gathering has begun in Islamabad on Sunday, with workers from across the province gathered at the venue, the party announced on social media platform X.

The rally, which was initially scheduled for July and later August, was postponed twice earlier after authorities revoked permission.

Earlier today, hand-grenades, rocket launchers and detonators were found from the site of gathering.

Police and bomb disposable squad reached the site of the rally and defused the explosive.

Meanwhile, due to the rally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Islamabad, GT Road has been closed for traffic from both sides placing containers at Sangjani.

PTI will hold a rally today in Sangjani area of ​​Islamabad. Party Chairman Barrister Gohar said that the rally has already started and his allies will also participate in the gathering.

On the instructions of the district administration of Islamabad, the security was put on red alert throughout the district.

To maintain law and order situation, all entrances and exits of red zone in Islamabad were closed with the help of containers.

Before the rally, GT Road was closed for traffic from both sides by placing containers at Sangjani, while the entrances to Islamabad were closed at Motorway No. 26 Chongi.

Apart from this, containers have been placed at the Khanna Bridge Expressway, while Murree Road has been closed at Faizabad.

On the other hand, the routes coming from Rawat T Chowk to Rawalpindi were closed with containers, while the Faizabad interchange was completely sealed and several routes from Rawalpindi to Islamabad were closed.
