WhatsApp working on security checkup feature for future update

WhatsApp is back again with another exciting feature but this new feature will be rolled out as part of a future update of the app, WABetaInfo reported.

Meta’s famous instant messaging app is putting together a new feature which will allow users to swiftly review their security settings and help users protect their accounts by adding extra layers of security.

According to WABetaInfo, the security checkup screen suggests features, including the ability to set up a passkey, enabling users to log into WhatsApp with biometric data or a screen lock.

Users can also add an email to their account, facilitating account recovery when they cannot receive the verification code via SMS.

Additionally, the security checkup recommends enabling two-step verification, which provides an extra layer of security through a personal six-digit code.

The upcoming feature also consolidates all critical security options in one place, which makes it more likely for users to engage with and configure these settings.

It simplifies the process of managing security preferences, ensuring that users can easily navigate and understand the various options available to protect their accounts.

This security checkup feature is under development and is set to be available in a future update.
