PCB announces new selection committee

The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to limit NOC for national cricketers playing all three formats with the view to protect all format cricketers from injuries and fatigue.

The policy for all format players was decided in the meeting of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, head coaches and international department. There is a possibility that the national cricketers playing all three formats this year will not be given NOC for the leagues as Pakistan have to play in all three formats until May next year. There is non-stop cricket.

Due to continuous cricket, the NOC policy is being further restricted so that cricketers playing in all formats are protected from fatigue and injuries.

PCB’s top priority is to rehabilitate players and manage workload for a full season, which is the reason for not giving NOC.

From Bangladesh series next month to Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan team have to play 9 Tests, 14 ODIs and 9 T20 matches.

Naseem Shah has also not been issued NOC for The Hundred under the same policy, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan have contracts for Global T20. Global T20 has not been approved by ICC yet.

The issue of players’ NOCs will be considered after ICC’s approval. Global T20 League is scheduled in Canada from July 25 to August 11. PCB’s policy is to play two foreign leagues along with PSL.
