Do you know how ‘firewall system’ works to control social media?

The government has decided to implement a firewall system to prevent misleading content on social media and we will explain here how does this system protect social media users.

In this regard, experts have given some details which are being described in the article under review.

A firewall system is a security system that monitors and controls network traffic. Its main purpose is to block misleading, harmful and illegal content so that users can be protected from it.

The first question that comes to mind is how a firewall will block objectionable content, the answer to which is that the underlying firewall system filters Internet traffic. It is installed on internet gateways, internet uplink and downlink and with the help of this firewall unwanted and obscene content sharing websites and social media platforms are controlled.

Any content that is shared for propaganda purposes can easily be blocked by firewalls.

Apart from this, with the help of the firewall, legal action can be taken against the creator of the content after the Internet Protocol and IP addresses of the source of any content, i.e. where the content was first posted, are revealed.

In addition, the sources said that firewalls will be installed on internet service providers. The government will pay some of the cost of firewall installation and the remaining cost will be paid by internet service providers.

PTA sources say that internet service providers are bound to prevent illegal content and companies are bound to take steps to prevent such content as per the licence clause.
