The government has increased the petrol price by Rs7.45 per litre from Rs258.16 to Rs265.61 for the next fortnight.
The decision has been taken in line with an increasing trend in the international market.
The Finance Division officially notified the new prices that had been worked out by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).
The notification said that the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) has also been increased by Rs9.56 to Rs277.45 per litre. The latest fuel prices will come into effect from today (July 1).

It added that the petroleum products’ prices have seen an increasing trend in the global market during the last 15-day.
The new changes in fuel prices come for the first time since the federal budget’s announcement for fiscal year 2024-25 earlier this month on June 12.
There will be no change in the applicable taxes and duties, the Finance Division stated, adding these will remain at the existing level, as had been notified in the budget.
The federal government had jacked up the petroleum development levy (PDL) by Rs10 per litre, from Rs60 to Rs70 , in the budget.
