IHC rejects plea seeking inquiry into threatening letter

Supreme Court Justice Athar Minallah ha said that showing live to a leader of a big party Imran Khan is not violation of law.

The Supreme Court has issued dissenting note of Justice Athar Minallah with regard to live streaming of court proceedings during the hearing of appeals against NAB amendment verdict.

The top court judge observed that not giving masses live access to court proceedings would be violation of rules set during Qazi Faiz Isa case.

Minallah, in the note, further said that the recent elections had proved that the PTI founder had millions of supporters in the country. Imran Khan is not an ordinary prisoner. Judiciary had been invloved in insulting elected representatives, he added.

Justice Minallah said that NAB law was enforced by a military dictator on Nov 16, 1999, which was used to target politicians.
