The Pakistan Cricket Board is expected to announce the T20 World Cup squad of the Men in Green tomorrow (Friday).
The tournament is scheduled to be played in UAE and West Indies in June. However, the deadline to finalize the squad is May 25.
The Pakistan selection committee has been holding consultations with white-ball captain Babar Azam and coach Gary Kirsten, who are in England.
Kirsten joined the national men’s side in Leeds on 19 May to commence his two-year tenure as the white-ball head coach.
Pakistan and England are scheduled to play second-match of the four-game series on May 25 after the series opener was washed out.
It is worth mentioning here that, pacer Hasan Ali was released from the Pakistan T20I squad ahead of the first match against England.
The Board made the announcement in a brief press release stating that the move was aim to allow Hasan to fulfill his commitments in county cricket.
“Initially, Hasan was included in the squad as an injury cover for Haris Rauf,” it concluded.
Hasan’s release means that he won’t be part of the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan squad:
