LAHORE: The next chief minister of Punjab will be Hamza Shehbaz, his spokesperson said on Monday.

Talking to media after meeting Tarin Group in Model Town, Hamza Shehbaz’s spokesman Imran Goraya said that there has been a very good meeting with Tarin Group, may Allah bless him.

Imran Goraya said that Hamza Shehbaz would be the next Chief Minister of Punjab.

It may be recalled that Hamza Shehbaz reached the residence of Jahangir Tareen in Model Town Lahore and discussed the political future with the members of Tareen group.

According to sources, the members of Tareen group said that they are mentally ready to part ways with the government. We should be assured of tickets in the next elections and Jahangir Tareen’s decision will be accepted. We are with you in minus-Bazdar. The cooperation should be long.

A joint statement was issued after the meeting, according to which members of the Tareen group expressed frustration over Punjab’s affairs and agreed to remove Usman Buzdar from the post of chief minister.

Meanwhile, PTI Senator Faisal Javed has said that voting on no-confidence motion will take place after March 27.

Earlier, in an informal conversation with media persons here on Monday, Senator Faisal Javed had confirmed the date of March 28 for voting on the no-confidence motion.

However, he later said in a statement on Twitter that Inshallah the biggest rally in the history of Pakistan will be held on Sunday, March 27 at Azadi Chowk Islamabad.

He said the no-confidence motion would be voted on after March 27.

Meanwhile, a meeting of the PTI core committee was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister in which consultation has been completed on convening a meeting of the National Assembly.

According to sources, in the core committee meeting, Asad Umar briefed on liaison with coalition parties and parliamentary affairs advisor Babar Awan briefed on legal aspects.

The sources said that the core committee has given power of all the decisions related to no-confidence to the prime minister.

According to sources, the prime minister expressed full confidence in the allies and said that the allies are not going anywhere. They are with us and all our preparations are complete, there is no problem with no-trust motion, the situation is satisfactory, Imran said.
