LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that the people have given the government a five-year mandate, adding that every democratic government has the right to allow it to complete the period.
He said this during the meeting with Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani in which political situation including no-trust move was discussed.

On this occasion, Elahi said that elections look good only as per their schedule, adding that parliamentary traditions will not be allowed to be undermined.
The speaker said that the consultative process and meetings were part of the political process. The PML-Q leader said the decision would be taken thoughtfully after consultation with the parliamentary party.
He said that they were having a close look at the changing political climate every day.
