PM Imran stops NAB chief from appearing before PAC

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has stopped the NAB chairman from appearing in any standing committee including the Public Accounts Committee.

The NAB chief did not appear before the PAC meeting. Instead, the director general of the anti-graft watchdog appeared in the meeting with a letter.

The PAC committee postponed the meeting in protest over non-participation of NAB chairman. The chairman of the committee decided to call NAB chairman again. He said that if the chairman is very dear to the prime minister than he should not do so.

According to a report, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal will not appear as a principal accounting officer in any standing committee including the PAC. However, he will be represented by the director general of NAB headquarters.

In this connection, a letter with an approval of the prime minister has been submitted to the PAC.
