ISLAMABAD: The first case of Omicron variant has detected in Islamabad on Saturday.
According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), contact tracing is being carried out after the first case of Omicron is reported in the federal capital.
Sources said that Omicron has been confirmed in Islamabad and there is no travel history of the patient abroad.

They added the patient has only Karachi’s travel history and the patient’s condition is out of danger.
It is to be mentioned here that the first case of Omicron in Pakistan was confirmed in Karachi on December 13, where a woman was infected with a virus. Later, she recovered after being treated at a private hospital.
