16 smugglers nabbed from train in Kila Abdullah

QUETTA: Frontier Corps and Railway Police in a joint operation arrested at least 16 smugglers from a passenger train in Balochistan’s Kila Abdullah district on Friday.

 According to initial details, the law enforcement agency personnel had information about the presence of smugglers in train upon which they operated jointly and raided the train after stopping it in Shela Bagh area of Kila Abdullah district.

Sources say that the smugglers hijacked the train and made held the railway staff hostage to make them move the train towards Quetta city.

Upon the arrival of FC and Railwya Police personnel, two of the smugglers also pelted stones over them.

However the operation was a success as law enforcement personnel arrested the smugglers, freed the train staff and also took the smugglers’ merchandise into custody.
