ANKARA: A statue of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajid, has been erected in the Turkish capital, Ankara.
Bangladesh Foreign Minister Abdul Rahman Momin attended the unveiling ceremony in Ankara and inaugurated the statue.
Sheikh Mujib’s statue has been erected in Ankara on the avenue named after him.
Other Turkish officials, including the governor and mayor of Ankara, also attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Bangladeshi Foreign Minister said that Turkey-Bangladesh diplomatic relations are friendly and Turkey has helped in every difficulty.
