KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet has accorded an approval to purchase to 250 diesel hybrid electric buses for intra-district operations.
The approval was made during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah here on Thursday.

The meeting was told that the buses will be procured under the Sindh Intra-District Peoples Bus Service project. The 250 buses will ply in Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and other districts.
Earlier in October, an agreement was signed for the procurement of the buses.
Sindh Transport Minister Awais Shah had said the Sindh government had released Rs8 billion to the transport department for the project.
