KABUL: Following days of consultation, Taliban have appointed Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund as new head of state.
Senior Taliban leaders have confirmed that Mullah Hassan Akhund would be the new head of Afghan government.
“We were prepared to announce the new government today (Monday) but due to some unspecified reasons the decision has been postponed,” they said.
They added that now the new government is likely to be announced by Wednesday or Thursday.
A senior Taliban leader revealed that Amir-ul-Momineen Hibatullah Akhund himself nominated Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund as Rais-al-jamhoor or Rais-ul-Wuzraa.
