Islamabad: Two major changes have been made in the Karachi Transformation Plan worth Rs739 billion.

The plan for upgrading and operation of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) has been handed over to the Ministry of Railways.

Earlier, the Karachi Circular Railway project was handed over to the Sindh government by the Economic Co-ordination Committee (ECC) due to opposition from the Ministry of Railways.

According to sources, the decision of the ECC has been reversed due to the intervention of the Secretary Cabinet Division and now the plan for upgrading and operation of Karachi Circular Railway has been assigned to the Ministry of Railways.
