ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to close the inquiry concerning awarding railway land on a lease against PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique.
According to sources, Khawaja Saad Rafique was blamed for awarding precious railways land to the blue-eyed persons on 33-year lease against cheap rates.
The complainant, in a petition, had alleged that Saad Rafique had leased out the railway land to benefit his favourite contractor.
He added that the railway officials did not scrutinise before awarding the lease.
However, the sources rejecting the allegations claimed that the former railways minister had awarded the lease to a bidder who offered the highest bid for the land.
NAB sources said that after an approval from the Regional Board, the DG NAB has sent recommendations to the chairman to close the inquiry against Khawaja Saad Rafique.
