KARACHI: Five aircraft were hit by birds in a single day at the Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport (JIAP).
Sources said that four Pakistan International Airlines planes and one Air Blue aircraft were hit by birds while landing at the Karachi’s airport, exposing the incompetency of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The CAA is responsible for the cleanliness at and around the runways of airports in the country.
A wing of the PIA’s flight PK-309 was badly damaged after it was hit by a bird.
The sources said that the wind-screens, engines and wings of the planes were damaged due to the bird strikes.
