LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Thursday banned the manufacturing sale and use of polythene/plastic bags across the Punjab province.
The court heard a petition concerning the use of polythene bags.
The counsel for the petitioner told the court that the use of polythene bags was causing harmful effects on the environment and the human health.
The court while banning the use of plastic bags directed the authorities concerned to strictly enforce the order.
The plastic bags are already banned in Sindh, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Gujranwala.
