KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Tuesday announced to launch the “Huqooq-e-Karachi Tehreek” (Karachi Rights Movement).
Addressing a press conference here, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that a historic march would be organized on September 27 on Shahra-e-Quaideen under the Huqooq-e-Karachi Tehreek.
He said that the recent rains have exposed the government’s performance. The package of Rs1100 billion is a political manipulation and point scoring, he said, adding that the total development budget of the federation is Rs650 billion in which Rs18 billion has been set aside for Karachi.
Hafiz Naeem said those who held high-profile positions kept telling big lies in front of the nation.
He said that KMC had a development budget of Rs52 billion out of a total budget of Rs104 billion in four years. DMCs had received Rs62 billion in four years, who will be answerable?
We strongly reject the current Sindh Local Bodies Act, the JI leader said.
