Karachi: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar on Sunday termed the statement of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari regarding the Karachi package announced by Prime Minister Imran Khan as wrong.

Federal Minister Asad Umar, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Aminul Haq held a press conference here in Karachi.

Asad Umar said that there is a division of powers in Karachi which has caused problems. Due to the division of powers, there are difficulties in decision making. During the yesterday’s meeting, we agreed on all the projects except a few. The federal and provincial governments want to work together.

He termed the statement of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as wrong and said that 62 per cent funding for Karachi package projects came from the federation and 38 per cent from Sindh.

Asad Umar said that it was decided at the request of Sindh Chief Minister that the announcement will not be made on the share of the centre and Sindh in the package. Murad Ali Shah had said that the debate should not start that the federation is spending more, we will stick to it but as soon as we got up from the meeting, Bilawal’s video clip came to light.
