Multan: The engineering graduates from the Bahauddin Zakaria University (BZU) Multan are unable to find jobs as they are not accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) courtesy the management of the varsity.
Sources said that the graduates from the Mechanical Engineering Department of the (BZU) of the batchs 2015 and 2016 have not been accredited by the PEC as the BZU have failed to fulfil the basic requirements needed for accreditation.
The sources added that the BZU engineering graduates without the PEC accreditation are facing difficulties in finding jobs in the market.
Students say they are rejected in the interview when they fail to present a PEC accreditation to the companies.
According to the sources, the BZU has failed to meet PEC’s some of the basic requirements including upgraded computer laborataries, Phd faculty, industrial tours for students, internship programmes for students and the availability of latest machineries like CNC machines at the workshops.
The graduates of the mechanical engineering department have demanded of the BZU management to meet the PEC criteria so that they are accredited by the engineering council.
