MALMO, Sweden: Protests erupted in Sweden against the burning of the Holy Quran by the right-wing anti-Islamic extremists.
The protests turned violent as vehicles and shop fronts were torched.
Police and protesters clashed in the southern city Malmo.
The police have made several arrests.
Earlier on Friday, the right-wing extremist Dutch politician Rasmus Paludan also tried to attend the Quran burning ceremony with his colleagues.
Swedish police have stopped Dutch politician Paludan from desecrating the Quran and setting it on fire, sending the Dutch politician back across the border, saying he has been banned from entering the country for two years.
