KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani has said that the registration of private schools which are open across the province should be canceled immediately and the concerned Deputy Commissioners should take strict action against the management of these schools.
The final decision to open the educational institutions will be taken at the NCOC meeting on September 15. We want the Federal Minister for Education and all the provincial education ministers to meet on September 7 so that we have all the preparations in place. The decision to close educational institutions was a difficult one, but time has proved it was the right decision.
The ongoing development schemes under the Works and Services Education Department, especially in the 9000 schools where enrollment is more than 80%, should be completed as soon as possible.
He expressed these views during a meeting held at his office on Monday regarding the education department and a meeting with Miss Christina, Chief of UNICEF Sindh Chapter.
Secretary Education Sindh Ahmed Bakhsh Narejo, Secretary Colleges Baqir Naqvi, Additional Secretary Education Dr Fauzia, Asif Memon and others are present on the occasion.
Presiding over the meeting of the Education Department, Saeed Ghani said that we want the meeting of the Federal Minister for Education and all the Provincial Ministers of Education to be held on September 7 so that we have complete preparations in all respects.
He said that all resources should be utilized to ensure full implementation of full SOPs at all educational institutions.
Saeed Ghani said that the final decision to reopen educational institutions on September 15 would be taken at the NCOC meeting. He said that we have to focus our full preparation on the opening of educational institutions on September 15 and complete all the measures including spray in all the educational institutions before September 15.
The meeting also reviewed the curriculum across the province, situation after Coronavirus, new academic year and other issues.
Meanwhile, the meeting took stern notice of the news of opening of private educational institutions in Karachi on various private channels.
Saeed Ghani directed the Education Secretary and DG Private Schools to take action against these schools. He said that the registration of private schools which are open all over the province should be canceled immediately.
