Lahore: The Jamaat-e-Islami has rejected the Mutual Legal Assistants Criminal Bill, which was passed in a joint sitting of parliament yesterday (Thursday).
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Siraj-ul-Haq, while responding to the Mutual Assistance Bill passed by the government, said that the bill was passed to enslave Pakistan forever by the IMF and the World Bank.
He said that PPP and PML-N played the role of silent facilitator for the government in passing the bill as in the past.
He said that the legislation under international pressure is not in the interest of the country and the nation, adding that the government neither consult nor repect the public opinion.
The JI ameer said that PTI has always settled issues with the major parties under the give and take policy.
He said the government had struck a deal on the national independence and sovereignty for a few dollars.
Senator Siraj-ul-Haq said that we are free citizens of a free country and it is our duty to protect our freedom and sovereignty.
