Islamabad: Youm-e-Istehsal (Exploitation Day) is being observed all over the world including Pakistan today to show solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
On August 5 last year, India had illegally annexed Kashmir by removing its special status, as well as making an illegal attempt to separate Jammu and Ladakh from Kashmir.
The United Nations has made it clear in its resolutions that the future of Kashmir will be decided by the Kashmiris themselves through a referendum.
Today, August 5, marks the one-year anniversary of India’s illegal move, which is being celebrated all over the world, including Pakistan, as an ‘Exploitation Day’ to show solidarity with Kashmiris.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Muzaffarabad today to express solidarity with Kashmiris on the occasion of Exploitation Day and he will address the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pakistan had installed clocks showing Srinagar’s time at the airports.
A clock had been installed at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore to show the time in Srinagar.
Flags of Kashmir and Pakistan have also been hoisted at the airport.
Srinagar time has been set in the clock installed at Bacha Khan Airport in Peshawar.
According to the airport administration, flags of Pakistan and Kashmir have also been hoisted at the airport while videos related to atrocities in Kashmir are also being played.
