New school timings announced in wake of health risks

Karachi: The All Pakistan Private Schools Federation and the Karachi Private Schools Action Committee have announced to reopen private educational institutions from August 15.

Addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Clubs here on Tuesday, the Action Committee leader Pervez Haroon said that 31-point code of conduct has also been issued.

He said the federal and provincial governments had not consulted the private educational institutions to take stock of their problems as many school owners had started meagre jobs to earn livlihood.

According to a survey, 74 per cent of parents want to send their children to school.

Pervez Haroon said that the situation is not better in some union councils therefore the schools will not open there.

In addition, the All Pakistan Private Schools Federation has also said that online education and home education are flop dramas.

The government should announce the opening of schools from August 15, otherwise we will open the schools ourselves, it added.
