New Delhi: Indian investigative journalist Yatish Yadav wrote in his book that India had hired three warlords in Afghanistan, including Ahmad Shah Massoud during the Soviet invasion.
In a book titled “RAW: A History of India’s Court Operations”, the journalist said that did not name the other two, but wrote that the other two warlords were still working in Afghanistan.
The book states that in the war against the Soviet Union, the Afghan forces had become disillusioned and split into several factions.
Due to the strong ties between the CIA and Pakistan, India was finding it difficult to play a role in Afghanistan against Pakistan, the Indian journalist said.
