Karachi: Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah said on Friday that it is forbidden to slaughter the sacrificial animals on the streets this year.
He said that a plan has been prepared to collect more than one million tonnes of hides.
A meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House to remove hides from Karachi in which committees were set up to collect and dispose of the remains of the sacrificial animals.
Arrangements of Sindh Solid Waste Management have also been completed. 67 collection points have been set up in the city for collection of waste, from where the same will be dumped in landfill sites.
