Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has taken notice of the deaths caused by electrocution during the recent rains in Karachi.

The NEPRA said in a statement that the authority has sought evidence from the affected persons to determine those responsible.

It requested the citizens to report the incidents of electrocution on the email address along with the evidence.

Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has  welcomed the notice by the NEPRA.

He said that K-Electric has proved to be a failed institution and NEPRA should also take action on average billing, overbilling and loadshedding.

It may be recalled that in the third spell of monsoon in Karachi, at least 12 people were killed due to electrocution and other rain-related incidents.
