KARACHI: The citizens of Karachi are forced to buy flour at the higher rates as compared to other major cities.

The Statistics Department has issued the details of the flour prices in major cities of the country.

According to the statistics, the price of 20 kilograms of flour in Karachi has reached Rs1,360 and it is the highest price of flour among the major cities of the country.

In one week, a 20-kg bag of flour in Karachi had gone up by Rs120, the statistics office said.

It said that on July 2, the price of a 20 kg bag of flour in Karachi was Rs1,200 but on July 16, the price jumped to Rs1,240 while on July 23, the price reached Rs1,360.

A 20 kg bag of flour in Karachi is Rs460 to Rs500 more expensive than other cities including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Multan.
