Karachi: The Met Office has forecast the third spell of monsoon rain for Karachi from July 26 to 27.
The Met Office Director General Sardar Sarfaraz said that heavy rain and thunderstorm is expected in the port city between July 26 and 27.
He added that a low-pressure from India’s Gujrat would enter Pakistan through the Rann of Kutch. It will affect the sea’s southwestern wind, causing rain in Karachi, he said.
Speaking to Jasarat, Jamshed Town UC 3 Vice Chairman Tahir Jamil and Councillor Shafiq Tanoli said that all the drains in the area had already been cleaned ahead of the monsoon rain.
They said that during the recent rain spells when almost all parts of the city had submerged, Azam Basti was clear of rainwater.
Earlier in the first spell on July 7, Karachi had received over 40 milimeters of rain with dust storm.
At least 15 people were killed across the city in various rain-related incidents.
