JI to hold protest on Aug 5 in Islamabad to show solidarity with Kashmiris: Sirajul Haq

LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Senator Siraj-ul-Haq on Thursday said that the Jamaat-e-Islami would hold a big protest demonstration on August 5 in Islamabad.

He said that the country’s political and religious leadership would participate in the protest.

Addressing a press conference here at Mansoora, the JI chief said that neither any past government nor the existing government has ever taken a bold stand on the Kashmir issue.

He said that every government had made tall claims and promises for the independence of Kashmir but then remained silent. The incumbent prime minister had also raised a slogan of becoming Tipu Sultan. He (PM) said that he made a very strong speech at the United Nations but then came to wear black armbands and protest on Friday and now he has also forgotten that.

The JI chief said that a massacre is going on in Kashmir and a dark night of oppression is looming.

He said to bring the voice of oppressed mothers, sisters and daughters of Kashmir to the palaces of the rulers a massive protest would be held in Islamabad on August 5 in which country’s political and religious leadership will participate.
