KARACHI: The map of Karachi’s coastline is about to change as it has been decided to renovate the Sea View on the pattern of foreign beaches.
Under the unique project, the work on planting grass has been started.
The local administration has closed the Sea View for the past few months due to the coronavirus epidemic.
In the meantime, the Clifton Cantonment Board has begun work on a plan to improve the coast and bring it at par with the international standard. In the first phase, grass is being planted on over 13 acres of land for keeping the area green.
According to Clifton Cantonment Board sources, work on Sea View will be carried out in two phases. The first section will be from Nishan Pakistan to Chanki Manki while the second from Chanki Manki to Village Hotel.
They said that this entire coastline strip is spread over 90 acres, adding 13 acres will be turned into green space.
A 1.76 km jogging track will also be constructed for the public. Five watch towers will also be built to inspect the coastline from a height and if someone starts drowning, it can be rescued with the help of an expert swimmer.
