ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Planning Asad Omar on Sunday termed the same conditions for becoming a member of parliament and joining the cabinet as justified.
He was expressing his views on the dual citizenship of special assistants to Prime Minister Imran Khan while speaking on a Geo News program ‘Naya Pakistan‘.
The minister said that it seems logical that the conditions for joining the cabinet should be the same as for becoming a member of parliament.
At the same time, Asad Omar said that the Constitution allows the prime minister to include un-elected people in the cabinet.
Earlier, in a statement, Zulfi Bukhari, special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressed his position on the dual citizenship of cabinet members.
He asked the opposition leaders to answer about their work permits.
