Pemra orders action against TV channels airing Indian content

Peshawar: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) Chairman Muhammad Saleem Baig has ordered strict action against the television channels airing Indian content.

A Pemra meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Saleem Baig.

The Pemra chief said that there was a zero tolerence policy for those airing Indian content.

Legal action will be taken against those found violating the rules and regulations, he warned.

He directed to take immediate action on complaints of telecasting Indian content as well as vulgar material.

The Pemra chief said that showing vulgar content on CD channels was illegal and a moral crime. Legal action will be taken against such elements, he added.
