Islamabad: The government on Saturday approved upto 10 per cent increase in the prices of medicines.
According to a notification by the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (Drap), the approval of increase in the drugs prices has been given under the consumer price index.
Drap had formally made an amendment in this connection in the drug pricing policy, which was recommended by its policy board and the centre, the notification added.
Drug manufacturing companies and importers have been allowed seven per cent increase in the prices of basic medicines while 10 per cent has been allowed in the prices of other medicines.
