New Delhi: Tensions between China and India may escalate in the coming days over the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh as China refuses to withdraw troops from Finger 4 area of Pangong Tso Lake.
According to Indian media, the Indian Army is on high alert to deal with the possible threat posed by the Chinese Army (People’s Liberation Army), while the number of tanks has been increased in eastern Ladakh.
Sources said that Lieutenant General YK Joshi, Chief of Northern Command, has reached Delhi and will soon brief Prime Minister Modi and other senior officials on the situation along the Line of Actual Control.
They added that in the fourth round of talks between China and India at the level of corps commanders which lasted for 14 hours, China made it clear that it would not withdraw troops from Finger 4.
Recently, an agreement was reached between China and India to withdraw troops from Galwan, Garmchashma and Gogra valleys, while India has been demanding that China withdraw its troops from all areas.
